NorthWestern Reports Second Quarter 2025 Financial Results
NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (Nasdaq: NWE) reported financial results for the second quarter of 2025. Net income for the period was $21.2 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, as compared with net income of $31.7 million, or $0.52 per diluted share, for the same period in 2024. This decrease was primarily due to lower retail natural gas and electric usage primarily driven by weather, Montana property tax tracker collections, non-recoverable Montana electric supply costs, depreciation, operating, administrative and general costs, and interest expense. These were partly offset by higher retail rates, higher electric transmission, and natural gas transportation revenues.
NorthWestern Energy Signs Letter of Intent to Serve Quantica Infrastructure’s Montana Data Center Development
NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (Nasdaq: NWE) today announced it has signed a letter of intent to provide energy services for Quantica Infrastructure’s proposed data center development in Montana. NorthWestern Energy anticipates that service could be provided through its regulated business, pending further evaluation and regulatory considerations. This approach could improve cost efficiency by spreading the fixed costs of operating Montana-based energy infrastructure across a broader customer base.

NorthWestern Energy Announces Settlement Agreements in Montana Electric and Natural Gas Regulatory Rate Review
NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (Nasdaq: NWE) reached settlement agreements in its Montana electric and natural gas regulatory rate review with the Montana Consumer Counsel, which represents consumers in hearings before the Montana Public Service Commission, the Montana Large Customer Group, which includes Ash Grove Cement Company, Calumet Montana Refining, Enbridge (U.S.) Inc., GCC, Par Montana, Phillips 66, REC Silicon Inc., and Stillwater Mining Company, the Federal Executive Agencies, which includes Malmstrom Air Force Base and other federal agencies with offices in NorthWestern Energy’s Montana service area, and Walmart Inc., which has 16 retail stores and 4,900 employees in Montana.

NorthWestern Energy Announces Agreement With Data Center Developer in Montana
NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (Nasdaq: NWE) is pleased to announce it signed a letter of intent to provide energy services for a developer planning new data centers in Montana. The centers will be served as part of NorthWestern Energy’s regulated business, which is expected to lower the cost per customer to operate NorthWestern’s Montana generation resources. The energy service load is expected to be a minimum 50 megawatts, beginning in 2027, with growth to 250 megawatts or more by 2029.
