Reach Recognized as High-Potential Innovator with Embedded Entrepreneur Initiative
Reach Power (Reach), the leader in Wireless Power-at-a-Distance, announced it has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to participate in its Embedded Entrepreneur Initiative (EEI). This award will accelerate Reach’s commercialization strategy, deepen its engagement with the Department of Defense, and expand the transition potential for its RF-based wireless power transfer (WPT) — power beaming platform across both government and commercial sectors.
The DARPA EEI award provides Reach with support to recruit and embed an experienced commercial executive—referred to as an Embedded Entrepreneur (EE)—to drive market strategy, proposal development, and dual-use growth efforts. The initiative is designed to help high-potential companies bridge the “valley of death” between breakthrough technology and real-world deployment.
“Power beaming is a foundational enabler for a new generation of persistent autonomous systems and intelligent sensors. Our selection for DARPA EEI will allow us to double down on commercialization while maintaining close alignment with defense transition priorities,” said Jeff White, President of Reach Power. “With support from DARPA, we’re bringing in top-tier commercial talent to scale our technology into defense, public safety, logistics, and industrial markets.”
As part of the EEI, Reach will focus on refining its commercialization roadmap, identifying new transition pathways, and expanding business development efforts across both government and commercial verticals. The effort includes active engagement with outside partners and participation in key defense and innovation forums to enable faster adoption.
This work will directly support numerous projects funded and supported by the Operational Energy-Innovation Directorate (OE-I) and its Operational Energy Capability Improvement Fund (OECIF), which is focused on enhancing energy resilience and efficiency across the Department of Defense. By accelerating the development and transition of wireless power-at-a-distance systems, Reach’s efforts under the EEI contract align with OE-I and OECIF priorities to reduce the logistics burden, extend mission duration, and support distributed operations in contested environments.
